Milano Design Week 2022: LOOK WHO’S BACK

On the occasion of the Milan Design Week 2022 Tacchini presents the re-edition of the sofa Le Mura by Mario Bellini, together with other novelties and unexpected exhibition projects.

SALONE INTERNAZIONALE DEL MOBILE

Envisioned as the representation of a dimension that is both domestic and monumental the Tacchini stand at the Salone del Mobile, designed by Lorenzo Bini of the Binocle Studio, ushers visitors through a series of rooms of different sizes and shapes that nonetheless remain in ongoing communication among themselves and with the outdoors. The key reference is a home, an iconic model like Casa de Serralves by José Marques da Silva (1925-1944), which was also the setting for the photo shoot of the new brand campaign.

The most imposing piece presented by Tacchini at the Salone del Mobile furniture show this year is Le Mura by Mario Bellini. In its modular, repetitive structure the studio recognized one of the basic features of the Le Mura system and chose to make use of this principle in the installation.

CINEMA TACCHINI by Formafantasma

Tacchini launches the re-edition of Le Mura sofa by Mario Bellini at Spazio Maiocchi. For the presentation, Tacchini invited the design duo Formafantasma and art critic Cristiana Perrella to interpret the modular and versatile nature of Le Mura. Formafantasma and Perrella conceived Cinema Tacchini as an immersive installation: different compositions made with the modular elements of Le Mura, defining areas of comfort where one can relax while watching an on-screen cinematic excursus on the theme of sitting.

“The installation is conceived as a cinematic arena displaying a selection of the many possible arrangements of the sofa Le Mura, together with individual tv screens and two wall compositions. The screens showcase in alternation a selection of scenes from movies, all of which explore the many ways the object of the sofa has been represented in cinema and how its use has evolved over the years’.

After the event, the materials used for the installation will be reused or employed in other exhibition projects. The fabrics selected both for the upholstery and for the installation are ecologically certified by Kvadrat, a brand that distinguishes itself since years for its attention environment-friendly materials.

WHY NOW? SPOTTI MILANO

Spotti launches the Why Now? collection, curated by the Mr.Lawrence studio, through a special in-store installation at its spaces in Viale Piave. The collaboration with Tacchini grew out of a long relationship between the two companies. The furniture and accessories brand had already worked with Spotti in the past to launch its product innovations with personal installations able to narrate the brand’s aesthetic and its connection to architecture. The Why Now? collection encourages a dialog between new forms of creativity and new designers, stimulating a cross-fertilization of languages. A selection of new and iconic Tacchini pieces will be exhibited alongside the Spotti collection, a brilliant, creative shared moment presenting the Tacchini catalogue, and its 2022 novelties, including the Le Mura sofa.
