About Us: Iconic Design & Italian Craftsmanship

Tacchini has been creating timeless furniture and accessories since 1967.

Founded by Antonio Tacchini in Seveso, Brianza, the company began as a carpentry workshop and later evolved into an international brand – a benchmark of Made in Italy. Half a century later, the values that inspired its origins remain intact: craftsmanship, continuous innovation, uncompromising quality, meticulous attention to the materials used, and respect for people and the environment.

In the early 2000s, with the entry of Giusi Tacchini – now the CEO and Creative Director of the brand – the company began collaborating with internationally renowned designers.

About a decade later, the relaunch of the Babela chair, designed in 1958 by Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni, marked the beginning of the re-editions, through which the company brings new life to iconic pieces from the past.

Like an archaeologist, Giusi digs into the history of design: it is the stories of objects that fascinate her. Her passionate research becomes the driving force behind every project.

Re-editions and new products make up a catalogue that, in its eclecticism, stands out for the refined blend and subtle balance between formal rigor and poetry, sophistication and simplicity, understatement and boldness, representing the synthesis of respect for tradition and openness to innovation.

Giusi Tacchini

CEO & Art Director

"I grew up immersed in the world of craftsmanship, learning the value of design and the meaning of the word quality. Today, I continue to carry forward the values that were passed on to me: craftsmanship, innovation, and sustainability. For us, innovation is not just technological, but also about respecting the legacy of the Great Master of Design. While we honour this tradition, we are committed to looking to the future, bringing past icons to life and collaborating with international designers to create new products. Our mission is to combine the quality of handmade craftsmanship with innovative and sustainable techniques to create the icons of tomorrow."

At the heart of Tacchini’s philosophy is the idea that style is not merely a concept tied to form, but an attitude of the spirit and an approach to work. The company has always valued local resources and the savoir-faire of the Brianza district, capable of transforming ideas into products of excellence.

In 2022, the brand launched the Tacchini Flock project with Formafantasma, reinforcing its commitment to environmental sustainability.

The duo revisits some of Tacchini’s iconic models with a system inspired by ancient mattress production techniques, using sheep wool to replace industrial foam and provide softness to the upholstery.

Life and Other Stories

Stories are our passion. We are constantly searching for stories hidden behind forgotten objects in an old warehouse or buried in archives that no one opens anymore. Other times, they are stories waiting to bloom, waiting for someone willing to listen. And we want to listen.
