Cini Boeri
"Joy is inherent in the act of designing, in proposing what is new and creating it with responsibility and passion. Commitment corresponds to a moral and intellectual ethic, which should always accompany our work, in all its aspects”

Cini Boeri (1924-2020) maintained a strong connection with Milan, her hometown, throughout her life. During World War II, she sought refuge on Lake Maggiore, participated in the Resistance, and met Renato Boeri, her future husband and father of her three children. After earning a degree in Architecture and a brief apprenticeship with Gio Ponti, she worked for over a decade with Marco Zanuso. In 1963, she opened her studio and embarked on an independent career spanning architecture, industrial design, and exhibition design, earning significant international recognition.

"Architecture is a science that looks after humanity."

Cini Boeri’s work is guided by an ethical and humanistic vision. She designs with a focus on the needs of the individual, aiming to promote autonomy in space and relationships.
Far from any dogmatism, she advocates a functional and poetic aesthetic, attentive to the lived experiences of people, and believes in the social responsibility of architecture, seen as a tool for improving quality of life and bringing joy. Her practice is animated by a strong moral and intellectual commitment, an experimental approach to materials, and a constant desire to overcome the rigid norms of contemporary design.
