Notes for a Herbarium
For Tacchini, colour is a cultural tool even before it is an aesthetic one, a design element that becomes identity and runs through the collections, reinterpreting their archetypes without betraying their essence.
In 2026, this vision takes shape in eleven new gloss and matt lacquer finishes, narrated through the sensitive photography of Massimo Gardone.

Notes for a Herbarium draws inspiration from nature, observing colour through the chromatic relationships that emerge from flowers, leaves and botanical fragments.
Deep, enveloping greens, warm chocolate and brown tones, ivories and dusty pinks form a palette designed to dialogue with natural materials woods, fabrics, stones, metals and reflective surfaces.

Contemporary living spaces increasingly call for personal choices, where colour is no longer decoration but language and design, capable of interpreting the present and shaping environments destined to stand out and endure over time.
Thus, re-editions and iconic pieces are isolated and recomposed like specimens collected in a herbarium, from the seating by Tobia Scarpa, Vico Magistretti and Gianfranco Frattini to contemporary lines such as Elephant and Five to Nine, up to Serie 500 and Torii Love. Stripped momentarily of their function they return to being drawing and volume surfaces through which colour redefines perception and reflects a new awareness.

“Lacquers envelop products like a thin, protective skin, capable of holding and preserving the impressions collected. Nature itself suggests interactions and atmospheres colour is no longer just a surface, but a living memory of the matter from which it originates.”
