Vico Magistretti

Architect and designer. Among his architectural works in Milan: the church of S. Maria Nascente in QT8, the Tower in Parco Sempione, the house in Piazzale Aquileia, the house in Piazza S. Marco, and the MM Famagosta depot. In the field of industrial design, he has collaborated with important companies including: Acerbis, Artemide, Asko Finland, Campeggi, Cassina, De Padova, Flou, Fritz Hansen, Gavina, Gebrüder Thonet Vienna, Kartell, Montina, Olivari, Oluce, Poggi, Schiffini Mobili Cucine. He has won numerous awards including the Compasso d’Oro in ’67 for the Eclisse lamp, in ’79 ’95 he received the Compasso d’Oro for his career. In the field of architecture it is worth mentioning his appointment as an honorary member of the Royal College of Art in London, where he was also a visiting professor since 1979. His design works are on display in the permanent collections of many museums in Europe and in the USA and he has also taken part in exhibitions and conferences in Europe, Japan and the USA.
